Hello!

Please use this portion of our blog to help you with the planning process of a perfect ceremony. We have listed several poems and readings that you may want to incorporate in your wedding. These may be added to the standard ceremony in order to create a detailed one.

HOW DO I LOVE THEE?

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
I love thee to the depth and breadth and height
My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight
For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.
I love thee to the level of every day’s
Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.
I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;
I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.
I love with a passion put to use
In my old griefs, and with my childhood’s faith.
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
With my lost saints, — I love thee with the breath,
Smiles, tears, of all my life! — and, if God choose,
I shall but love thee better after death.

~ By Elizabeth Barrett Browning ~

I Corinthians 13

LOVE is patient, love is kind.
It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.
It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking,
It is not easily angered; it keeps no record of wrongs.
Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes,
Always perseveres. Love never fails.
But where there are prophecies, they will cease;
Where there are tongues, they will be stilled;
Where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
For we know in part and we prophesy in part,
but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears.
When I was a child, I talked like a child, I
Thought like a child, I reasoned like a child.
When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me.
For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror;
Then we shall see face to face.
Now I know in part; then I shall know fully,
Even as I am fully known.
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.
But the greatest of these is love.

Blessing of the Hands

______ & ______, please join your hands.

Today you are holding the hands of your best friend,
young and strong and full of love for you,
as you promise to love each other forever on your wedding day.

These are the hands that will work alongside yours as together you build your future.
These are the hands that will passionately love and cherish you through the years
and will comfort you like no other.
These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief fills your mind.
These are the hands that will wipe tears from your eyes, tears of sorrow and tears of joy.
These are the hands that will tenderly hold your children.
These are the hands that will help you hold your family together as one.
These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it.
And these are the hands that – even when wrinkled and aged – will still be reaching for yours and expressing the same tenderness they do today with just a touch.
