Sand Selection w/ Couple

Officiate: Today you join your separate lives together. The two separate bottles of sand symbolize your separate lives, separate families and separate sets of friends. They represent all that you are and all that you’ll ever be as an individual. They also represent your lives before today. (In rotation the sand is poured)

Officiate: As these two containers of sand are poured into the third container, the individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined together as one.

Officiate: (Once the sand has been combined) Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual containers, your marriage will be joined together as one.

Sand Selection w/ Children

Officiate: Today you join your separate lives together. Each color of sand that you and your children hold represents you as an individual. It represents your lives before today and separate families and separate set of friends. It also represents all that you are and all that you’ll ever be as an individual. (In rotation the sand is poured)

Officiate: As these containers of sand are poured into the one container, the individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined together as one.

Officiate: (Once sand has been combined) These grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual containers, so reflect on this container as knowing that forever you are joined as a family.
